The first ever Kenmare Food Carnival was held in 2012 and has already established itself as a firm fixture on the Irish foodie calendar.

This year, the Kenmare Food Carnival launched a gorgeous little cookbook entitled ‘Loving Food…Loving Kenmare’. In celebration of Kenmare’s position as a gourmet capital, the cookbook focuses on the best of local produce and includes a range of fantastic ideas for ‘Light Bites’ ‘Tasty Mains’ and ‘Sweet Treats”.

What makes this cookbook particularly charming is that it is a truly collaborative endeavour, featuring over 40 recipes as contributed by leading members (or dare we say, luminaries) of the local culinary community. Particularly scrumptious dishes include the Filet of Irish Beef with Braised Oxtail by Mike Casey of The Lime Tree restaurant and the Baked Filet of Turbot en Papillote with Basil and Orange Sauce by Maura Foley of Shelburne lodge.

Take a little of Kenmare’s culinary magic home with you and pick up a copy at the Kenmare Book Shop. Price: €9:95
