Established in 2008, the Kenmare’s Carnegie Arts Centre has been an active force in supporting and promoting local artistic and cultural activities. This impressive venue includes a 140-seat theatre, a full-size cinema screen, a performance area and a gallery space for art exhibitions.

Recent theatre performances included Aidan Dooley’s excellent award winning one man show “Tom Crean: Antartic Explorer” on the fascinating life of the Kerry born explorer who was a member of three major British expeditions to Antarctica in the early 20th Century.  Funnily enough, just across the road from the Carnegie Arts Centre is Tom Crean Fish & Wine Restaurant & Townhouse run by his granddaughter who serves up some sensational seafood as well as other excellent options for carnivores & vegetarians.

The event calendar is regularly updated so be sure to check it out so that you don’t miss anything! The centre also hosts regular cinema screenings.Check out the Carnegie Arts Centre website here.
