Every Wednesday a local farmers’ market takes place in Kenmare square from 9am – 3pm. There is a lovely mix of stalls offering fresh local fare; including home baked bread, beeswax products, local cheeses and a fine array of fresh fish and cured meats. Stock up on scrumptious artisan food and create your very own locally-sourced tapas platter.

On the Wild Side – based out of Castlegregory - do great charcuterie, including Guinness infused saucisson (yes, really!), pork paté and seafood terrines. We highly recommend the trout terrine and also the seaweed infused saucisson. French man Oliver Beaujouan mans the stall and will guide you towards the treats that will tickle your fancy.

Fiona’s Cheese Stall has a fantastic choice of local Irish cheese. The Cranberry goats cheese and locally made cumin gouda with quince go down a treat.

The Real Olive stall stocks a range of Mediterranean produce (notably fantastic Kalamata olives and basil hummus) as well as Ireland’s first and only real buffalo mozzarella cheese. They also have excellent traditional extra virgin olive oil for a steal at 5 Euro.

Baking Emporium do a great range of artisan breads.  Choose from wheat, spelt and rye breads, not to mention the traditional Irish brown loaf. You won’t be disappointed!
