Mizen Head Visitor Centre

Mizen Head Signal Station and Visitor Centre is perched at the end of the peninsula, in a dramatic setting with the swell of the Atlantic Ocean crashing into craggy cliff faces.  The visitor’s centre enables visitors to travel back in time and visit the original lighthouse that now houses a small museum. To reach the lighthouse – located on a rock at the tip of the headland – you must cross an arched bridge that spans 50m across a dramatic sea gorge with gasp-out-loud views.

The visitor’s centre also houses a gift shop, a café and with a small children’s playground outside. You’d be hard pushed to find seesaw with a more a spectacular backdrop!  Of note is that it’s quite a steep climb up from the bridge and the other view-points so you need to be relatively fit.  The Centre is open daily March to October, and on weekends from November to March.

Entry: Adult: EUR6, Senior/Students: EUR4.50, Children: EUR 3.50, Family Ticket: EUR18
